Crosslides on both series are box-way design to reduce twisting forces and maximize internal cutting efficiencies for drilling and boring. Z-axis power transmission is via 7kW servo motor + 1:4 planetary gear reducer. Saddle widths on both series feature 1000mm extra-wide design for high rigidity and stability. Carriages run on double top V-guideways, and lower front slant guideway. Standard turrets are H4-350 or V8-160 on LFS, and H4-450 or V12-200 on LFM. LFS machines feature standard 30/37 kW spindle motors (40/50 HP) (37/45kW-50/60 HP opt), while LFM machines have 37/45 kW standard and 45/55 kW -OR- 60/75 kW (80/100 HP) optional. This coupled with 4-range headstock produces exceptionally high cutting torque at the spindle. Beds are one-piece Mehanite GB-300 cast iron with interlaced ribbing for “cage” construction to eliminate distortion and reduce cutting vibration. The milling head has 300-3500 RPM, geared with Fanuc 15/18 kW motor (20/25 HP).
